Gifts | Cordelia's Birthday Party

As I'm going through and editing these photos, I've been getting these great childhood flashbacks of the fun times we used to have at our birthday parties.

As a child we always look forward to our birthdays and the celebrations that come along with them, and every year is more and more exciting - we're getting older! It's not until we reach our early to mid twenties that some of us begin to hate our birthdays and even dread this inevitable day of the year.

I just think this is so weird, and so silly. It's such a privilege to grow old, one that a great many people don't ever get to experience. So since reaching this period of my life, I've been casting aside the common notion that birthdays are just another year closer to the end, and instead, holding on to the child-like anticipation of each birthday, looking forward to reaching another age milestone and knowing that with each year I'm growing older, I'm also growing wiser and more experienced.

I'm only blogging a portion of Cordelia's birthday session, as I really wanted to focus in on just one part of the party: the Gift opening!

Do you remember opening gifts as a child? These photos just might take you on a trip down memory lane - I know they did for me! So many mixes of emotion, so cute and innocent!

Nap time!

Megan & Braedon | Wedding | Charlie Lake, BC

It was a beautiful and quiet snowy morning February 1st 2014, when Megan and Braedon were wed at the Charlie Lake Church. The following is a sweet sneak peek into the lovely couples' special day.

Mommy Bucket List {for boys}

While my wee baby boy is still a little baby blob, I've got plenty of time to day dream about all the classic and adorable little boy activities we can share together in the near future.

So much time in fact that I feel like I need to get some of these plans down on "paper" so as to not forget about them in the coming years before my babe can really actively participate.

Most of these plans were inspired by looking back on my own childhood memories. And some of them are a product of what my imagination tells me what being a little boy must be like. I can't wait to start helping Sawyer make memories of his own.

Blacksmith Yoga | Richmond Steel Yard & Charlie Lake

So this RS shoot could have possibly ranked first in my most favourite sessions of 2013. Randelle and I got the OK from Richmond Steel to use their location as our photo playground and we namaste'd all over that junk yard. The lighting, the weather, the help, everything was amazing and I'm so pleased with not only the way the shots turned out, but how wicked they look up on the new website.

The second session was a toasty little quickie out on Randelle's dock in Charlie Lake. Some warm and beachy shots were needed for some promos so we snapped away until the sun went down over the hills.
